As some of you know, I call my 500 coin Ike box.
Because 500 coin Silver eagle boxes are called monster boxes.

I had filled it full of clad Ike's, just buying any I found
that looked good.

Update-To-My-Ike-Monster-Box

I have also been putting away 40% Ike's to some how add them to this
box.

Yesterday I sorted the box to see what I have. Seeing the sorted
coins, I decided to put them in complete rolls.
I was amazed I had at least a roll of each date, except 1976 TY1.
I had no 1976 TY1 coins. Randomly buying over 500 Ike's and none
1976 TY1, that was crazy. I did pick up two of the today, to start
that roll. That left room for three extra clad rolls and room for five
40% Ike's. I think 100 silver Ike's will be enough, for now.

Of course I have to bring myself to breaking a lot of them out of
the OGP.

How the box looks now. There are a couple rolls that need a couple
coins to fill, I am trying to put only BU coins in the 73 through 78
coins.

That leaves over a 100 Ike's I need to get rid of.
I hate taking them to the bank, my tellers will
look at me funny. Oh and nearly 3 rolls of clad proof Ikes
that will not fit into the box.

Update-To-My-Ike-Monster-Box

Freeing up those Ike's will help me get some more silver
dime rolls, to help me with my mini monster box of silver
dimes. (50 rolls, $250 Face)

The hardest part for me, is cutting open those Blue Ike's.

I think I will pick the two best for each year to keep
in the OGP. Then cut the rest.

I have a long term idea of making the five silver roll/tube,
be solid year rolls.

So 71, 72, 73, 74 and 76 will all have their own tubes.
With a mix, or half and half BU and proof.

Just figured I would ask... looking to buy more 40% Ikes? I have a couple 1971s if they would help contribute to your monster box (which looks amazing by the way)!

Thanks for the offer. But I think I am good. I have over
100 now, just seeing which ones to break open.

--------------------------------------------------------

I just cut open enough sets to make a complete roll
of 1971 S BU's. And enough to make a complete roll
of 1972 S BU/proof. I want to look through my desk
and safe to see how many more I can find, before
cutting any more.

Amazing box! It would be amazing to see all these BU Ikes together in one place. Even just seeing all those silver ones is something I will never be able to experience...but would love to.

Have you cherry picked all of these?

I do get to look at hundreds of Ike's, and try to pick the
best ones for this box. It is very hard to find nice 71 and 72 coins, these are some of the best I have found.
Best condition wise.

Most of the 73 through 78 are right from mint sets. Some of
the rolls do need a few more coins, I could have put more
that I have .. but just want BU coins at this point.

The 1976 TY1's I was not aware I has so little of.
Now that I know I will be looking for those, I don't
think it will take to long to fill that roll, or the
rest of the rolls.

After looking back at this post, I am thinking I should
have posted a picture with the caps off.
So I had to take another picture.

Oh .. not sure what to do with the blue chips that
come in the blue Ike packs.

So I have a roll of 25, in case some use for them comes up
in the future.
