I believe this 1943 LWC has been copper plated. It is attracted to a magnet and weighs 2.8 g. Some of the zinc plating can be seen on Lincoln's cheek. On the reverse is a slightly raised ridge which begins at F and goes through N; then just outside of C and over ONE in a straight line; then down past T and between ES and past A. I am suspecting that this is a mark where the coin was set on a pedestal in order to be plated and left a very small accumulation of plating where it touched the pedestal. Any thoughts?

The sticking to a magnet is the first sign it is altered. Copper planchets are not magnetic.

There are tons of Copper plated 1943 cents floating around. They have been selling them as novelty items for decades.
