Great Story, Great Coins... your Father was 89 what a great life he had and you certainly should be real proud of him. Our condolences to you and your family.

I am very sorry for your loss but I think it is great that you shared an interest in the hobby. May you find comfort in the memories of the time you spent together.

So Sorry to hear of your loss Daniel. Your detailed sharing about his life was a joy to read though. He truly was a great man who we are all indebted to for having served for our freedoms. Having a hand in astronaut training also is just an amazing thing to be a part of.
You have a right to be proud of your Dad's accomplishments in this life.

My maternal grandfather is who started me in coins. Like your father with you, my grandfather used the coin hobby as a means to get closer together. I can say I respect him, and what he did in my life, as being likely the wisest, kindest, most giving, most moral, and most logical man I have ever met.

My CCF name of Earle is in honor of him and was deliberately designed to bring him to mind every time I am online about this hobby. To log in, I have to type his name. So he is still with me when talking and collecting coins.
