How they arrived at their grade for this coin is a real -- let's see how CCF views this 1881-O Morgan VAM-10 O/O. The dies on this particular VAM were overpolished especially on the reverse, which you can see in the "stemless" leaves on the lower wreath, and on the eagle's right wing. Solid strike for a New Orleans Morgan. Pictures and surface combine to make rub and marks look a little worse than they really are.

I named her "Hot Date" due to the fiery reddish amber patch of toning around the date.

Coin has outstanding luster, tried to capture some of that and the depth in its pictures.

MS62 from the photos because of the bag marks. I would guess the coin is graded higher from your comments.

I can't wait to see what PCGS graded this one; sounds like it should be interesting!

MS63+ lots of luster only hampered by the numerous marks on the main focal point of Liberty's cheek.

PCGS MS64. The reverse is almost fully PL and the obverse is semi-PL, but it's hard to capture in the pictures. I think this coin is really a PQ 63 or 63+, to be honest, and am quite confused why PCGS wouldn't have gone with 63+ in this case.

Thanks for looking!
