Well, just call me GR58 jr. lol I got these because I've wanted a monster box of Ikes. I tried to relieve GR58 of his but he likes the things too darn much lol. This is only 22 rolls so I still need 3 These I bought on proxibid from an auction house I haven't delt with before. They were billed as from a safe deposit box and I'm all in about $1.80 per coin. All are bu albeit most only choice with some mid gems. Had some packing issues, as in they should have secured the rolls better. 5 rolls broke open during transport. I called them Monday and talked to the CS lady who said she'd ask the owner what he'd like to do and haven't heard back yet about how they want to handle it. If they blow it off I'll let everyone know which auction house to beware of. If they make things right they will secure my future business. Edited by Cascade 10/30/2015 9:26 pm

Good grief, Casacade. You don't play around. BAM! 22 rolls in one shot. Hehe. It's too bad about the shipping mishap or, rather, packing mishap. Indeed, those look like minty BU Ikes. You can always tell by those nice shimmery copper edges. I Still have a few circulated rolls in my monster box that I am slowly upgrading to BU. Thank goodness for Dave Enders. Awesome haul, Cascade. Boy, do I love seeing piles of Ikes. My love for these coins is slowly catching up with jbuck. Just a couple of light-years behind.

Ya, they shipped it in a green monster box but that was a mistake as it gave enough room without sufficient packaging to slosh the tubes in transit. GR, I don't have the patience to put one together. I barely have the patience to finish an almost complete album I buy. But I don't work at a coin shop. You have quite the "in" my friend

Are there any 1976-P Type 1 Ikes in that lot?

I haven't really gone through them yet. I'm a different breed, I like to take my time and draw out the "experience" when I buy lots or albums. I did find a "friend" so far from a 71d roll though

That ASE green (monster box), has got me thinking of maybe doing another box. Not sure how well the rolls would fit. But I will be finding out. Did the box you received, have the inside trays? In a ASE box, the tray has room for 12 rolls on left, 12 rolls on right and 1 roll in the center. There is a bottom tray and a cover tray. Do you have a full 500 Ike's now? Edit - Picture added, trying to the trays of a monster box. The top tray is sitting to the left, with some ASE's on it. The top of the box is sitting in back. Best picture I have right now.

Finding a "friendly" is always a plus. In regards to the 1976-P Ike, here is a wonderful assessment of this issue by cladking. I've copied it from another topic. Keep an eye out for these.
I think the '76-P type I Ike is one of the greatest sleepers ever. There were only a couple million made and a couple more million for mint sets. The low mintage was not common knowledge at the time so many actually degraded in "circulation". Over time large numbers of the mint set coins have also been spent. What many people still don't realize is that if you want a nice attractive BU example you'll have to pick through about a dozen mint sets or several rolls because typical quality of these is simply atrocious. Now that poorly stored mint set coins are often tarnished there might be as few as seven to ten thousand nice attractive examples that the average collector desires. It seems even AU's and poor examples should bring more than the current wholesale of about $2.50
Gems are quite scarce for this date as there is widespread retained planchet marking and ubiquitous scratches. Sometimes even strike is an issue on mint set coins. They appear only in the '75 mint sets and no mules have been reported to date.

I'll be looking for sure. I see I have a few rolls labels 76d t1 so I'll be looking for any possible 66's or higher for sure with those but I'm not holding my breath. I'll update when I do
