64. Needs a rinse to get rid of the scuzz.

MS64 was my first thought.

Some of what looks like "scuzz" is magnified because the reverse is fully mirrored and the obverse partially so; part is a light blush of rose toning, and part is some sort of white blotchier stuff with what looks like a fingerprint. I might do a (very) quick acetone & distilled water rinse, but I am concerned about dulling the mirror effect if I do so.

Edit: Just put it under the scope and confirmed it's an EDS VAM-20 S/S "Poxy Eagle" (eagle is covered with tons of little raised dots), I2/R4. This VAM is a bit scarcer in EDS than M/LDS, but not sufficiently interesting enough for anyone outside of us VAM addicts to really care. :P

I am worried the haze on the obverse might actually be pvc damage and I don't think can be gotten rid of. It's a shame because otherwise it's a really nice coin. Great looking reverse.

Removed from air-tite, quick acetone and distilled water. It is apparently not a haze, but rather silver patches showing through rose-colored blotchy toning. This photo is extremely processed in photoshop to show the nature of the toning: Just for grins, I ran it through my Photoshop "Fake-A-DMPL" filter: (notice the fact that the blue towel the coin sits on is completely obliterated? good way to find fake DMPL's.)

Try giving it a quick 2-3 second bath in ammonia, then rinsing with distilled water.

Does the photo cert show the same haze/toning the obverse now shows?

Yup, ebay. Photo cert I will look at closer when I get home. It was cheap (common date/mm.)
