Hello, just wanted to say how great this forum is and ask some advice of the members here. I am returning to the hobby, having collected at a young age and stopped for many years. I am curious about opinions on the following:

I have been reading about prices trending lower for Cdn coins...where are the best bargains? Are Cdn coins a good investment?

I am interested in collecting original rolls of coins, possibly 10 cent Cdn rolls. Does anyone know of any for sale?

I am also interested in individual specimen coins. I am looking for the less common dates earlier than 1950. Does anyone know of any for sale?

I was reading the ICCS population report and noticed there are very few MS-66 George VI Cdn 10 cent pieces. Would buying George VI 1937 - 1952 dimes make a good collecting focus?

I would prefer to support Canadian coin dealers and collectors with any purchases I may make, possibly someone could suggest a dealer with this type of material.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome to the CCF!.

I would just collect what your enjoy collecting :).

I personally did the roll purchasing for various denominations (mostly penny's) and was able to get most modern rolls from Colonial Acres, GateWestCoins (2000-Date), Imaginaire (French site) and for the older rolls (for 1c (1953-1999) and 50c (1974-1999)... other denominations were a little expensive) I had to get some from ebay and other collector on this site. If you do purchase rolls I suggest you try and buy as many rolls from a single site as possible to limit the cost on shipping.

I purchased the rolls so that I could select the coin for my collection myself and was find to find a few error coins along the way. Personally this is the way I roll hunt so if I do find something intresting its in MS state :).
