Greetings,

I noticed in the Canadian Legacy sale in February there were numerous unsold Victoria North lots. Does anyone know what happened to these coins, if they have been put up for sale or into another auction?
Also I came across a beautiful 1949 Cdn Dollar Graded ICCS MS-67 on ebay. Would anyone know a fair value for this coin or a last known sale value? I tried looking in the Cdn Legacy sale results where the 1949 MS-67 didn't sell and had a starting price of $700, so I figure it is worth some amount less than that...thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide!

I think your best bet would be to contact the auctioneer and ask them what happened with the unsold lots... that's at least a starting point..

Keep us posted on what you find.. I too would like to know what happened to some of those coins.

Part of the problem with auctions is the juice and tax almost 30%, so only must have coins garner much bidding

Yes, there was many great coins in this auction, just like the big Heritage Fun auctions lately only the must have units garner good bids and run of the mill get's slaughtered.

Yes indeed that was a crazy auction. Part one the Landon Sale was incredible. It left a few dealers and collectors with somewhat empty pockets and thus a lot of Victoria North stuff went unsold.
If you contacted Steven Bromberg , I am sure he could let you know if some of the unsold coins are still available. There was I recall an announcement made on the floor that they would be available on offer at his coin store the week after the auction. There may yet be stuff left.
As an aside, quite a few of the Landon and Victoria North coins we purchased have been resold to new. homes and we are very pleased with what they brought..

And I complain about 17.5% juice! So a $200 bid costs me a total of $260 at payup time. Is it any wonder I do so little auction buying?

Most great coins are sold at auction. The buyers premium is usually calculated as to the bidders final bid. 15 to 20 per cent premiums are now the norm in most coin auctions. There are still lots of great deals through this buying platform.Taxes are the cost of living in a great country.
