Hey guys, I just got home from the bank, and with a lot of interesting money! Basically, the teller explained that some guy came in and deposited his deceased mother's stash of old bills, and after getting it all, it turns out to be a bunch of $5 and $10 dollar bills from the 1950s! I was wondering if there would be any extra value, as some of the bills have consecutive serial numbers and all of them are CU. $5s: 1950D SNs C89391208B-C89391220B 1950C SNs C85335276B, C85335903B-C85335913B Missing 12, 09, 07, 06, 05 $10s 1950D C46705749C and C46705750C (this one has writing on it) 1950C C16109706C-C16109710C 1950B C14810675C-C14810678C Missing 0677 But guess why that bill was absent? It was replaced with a STAR NOTE that looks to be the nicest condition of all the 10s! Its SN is C07566601* I was wondering what their value would be, my guess is that the star note is the most valuable since it too is uncirculated. Edited by Coincollector110 11/24/2015 2:34 pm

Lucky. What do you plan to do with them?

I'd like to sell them, as it's a little too much money for me to put aside. I kept the star note 10 and the 5 with the unrelated serial number, so I might get some good money as the rest are uncirculated and have consecutive serial numbers which I have never seen on 1950 bills before.

You can probably make some decent money off those. If I were you, I'd keep the star and the $5 run. Your call, though.

The teller had some more 10s from that same deposit, and I picked up 2 more 1950B bills that fill the missing sequence. She also has a bunch of uncirculated 1963A $10s, which I'll probably pick up next time if they're still there.
