After reading the all the posts before this one of mine,
the thought HAS crossed my mind that:
it could be an altered '58, which has then been very harshly treated to cover up the alteration work.
A lesser condition '58 would have been the candidate for the alteration, due to a lower cost risk.
Under these circumstances, this coin must be treated with a great deal of scepticism.
