1945..."very scare and rare" oh yeah. For that money, you think they'd at least take a decent photo? It looks like one of those bogus "investment" packages done years ago. Throw a common coin in a trumped up holder and tell buyers it will be worth a lot someday. It's quite possible lindaclift2008 overpaid and now has high expectations without any knowledge of coins. Oops.

quote: "The 20 THOUSAND dollar Mercury dime"
Yeah, because you say so? It looks more like a 'penny' to me because of the 'color'. How does this seller think someone is going to shell out $20k for a coin with THAT pic? Very deceiving. mila_

Someone should send a message to this seller and ask.
"Do you seriously think you will get a 20k bid on this item with the picture you provided. $20,000 is a lot of cash to bid on something I can't even make out other then what you say it is in your description."

Darn it anyway! I was going to take a chance and bid on this one in case it was the Rare 1945 "Winged Liberty in Flight" error! I felt very confident with the fine photography, great description and long history of the seller(No Negs!) Now you folks have me second guessing myself! Mike

A while back, I had asked the seller why anyone should pay $20K on a coin worth perhaps $50 tops. I just received a reply: quote: This dime was well researched and the value of other coins is about the amount that you have said, but this coin comes with things that the other coins do not have, and the respected value of the coin is about $946,000. And plus there is a all leather binder that comes along with the coin and a reprint of the famous painting by Edward Moran, called the "Liberty Unveiled". Painting date is 1886.
A $946,000 value? A famous reprint in a leather binder? Well, then it's a steal for $20K!
