Ok so I guess there was something to commemorate, but it would be nice if they did something for circulation strikes.

I never know what to do with Roosevelt dimes. I have 2 w's, and few silver ones but every other coin has a commemorative in the past 15 years or something else to look for. Pennies have the 2009 formatives, the switch to the shield, and the 95% copper. The nickel has the 04 and 05 journey series. I pull out the best territory and ATB Quarters and then... dimes just go in my change bucket. Sad really. I wish they would give me something to look for.

That's what I'm saying! Is your duplicate FS or trade?

I am getting them both certified eventually and will see which one is a higher grade. Waiting until I have enough coins to send in to make it worth my while.

Quote: Ever notice that since politicians made their appearance on our coins that they have tended to stay there? Nail: Meet head! The problem with putting politicians on coins is that it becomes political to change it. Lincoln, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Washington were all accomplished men and certainly are well deserving of recognition. Coins, however are symbols of the nation and should not memorialize individuals. They should commemorate accomplishments and ideals of the nation as a whole. Liberty, Justice and the American Way should be topics, not individuals, regardless of their accomplishments. In a monarchy I can understand the effigy of the monarch but in a republic like the USA we should not have real people on coins or currency.
