Hello Collectors,
I recently came across a 1967 10 cent piece (Canada) in ICCS MS-67. I am unsure how much it's worth and was wondering if anyone here would have an opinion of value. Also, I am wondering people's thoughts on whether this would be a good coin to buy given there were so many minted, and even though there are no others listed in the ICCS report currently, more may surface in future years.
Thank you for your replies and looking forward.

http://www.PCGS.com/pop/valueview.aspx?s=34207 shows some data for MS65 and MS66; $47USD and $52USD respectively. Maybe you could extrapolate from that. ha.com sold a 65 in 2011 for $30USD. coinsandcanada shows 66 at $160CAD with a down arrow. Is there a significant difference in value between 65 and 67 for a coin with mintage of 63 million?

If Canadian coins increase in value from point to point the way u.s. Coins do, a -67 might score double dollars. That assumes there is a buyer. Seems odd for a common coin?

Rough rule of thumb is 2-3x MS66 (the highest grade a price is given in Charlton and http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...-1965-2015). But one's like that are like fine art; it's pretty much up to the buyer & seller to agree on a price as they are so rare and sales are so infrequent.

If that is the ms 67 , just my opinion there's no eye appeal and there are still rolls and rolls of 67 coins at every large shows to pick from.

Yes pennyman, this is the same coin you found on ebay... I also agree with John100 that the eye appeal isn't there, however, I found it so interesting that out of all the rolls and rolls out there, and the 32 million minted this is the only one that has reached MS-67...there have been 661 submitted to ICCS, 31 reached MS-66, and only one so far in MS-67...are there others out there ungraded? In checking the ICCS population report there are actually none listed, so I assume it was graded after the last pop. report printing...I just don't want to buy the coin then find out a bunch of them were graded and reached ICCS MS-67 over the past year! Thanks Kuh 85 for the guideline of 2-3x MS-66 price...I am still learning about this hobby and appreciate everyone's responses...as always you guys are a great resource So if I make an offer for this coin, how much should it be? Would $380 Cdn be fair or too much?

There are few circulated coins that ever grade 67 but there is a great 67 and a crappy 67 this is a the latter just my opinion I would not even bid on it. Look for an early ICCS ms 66 at bigger shows with eye appeal and resummit it would probably make a 67 today. There is a reason for very few of these dimes being graded few demand

Thank you john100...I may just decide to steer clear of this coin altogether...I agree it does not have the look of a premium quality coin... Any ideas john100 or anyone as to what to purchase which might be a bargain with the $380 I was considering using to purchase the 1967 dime?

When it come to coins grading MS-66 and higher, in newer ICCS flips, I almost _always_ try to examine the coin in hand before making the decision to buy. A MS-67 now might not be as nice as a MS-66 that was graded a decade ago. Also, when it comes to the higher grades, eye appeal matters!! For fun, compare the eye appeal of this coin... http://www.PCGS.com/setregistry/coi...498&sid=8585Note the cartwheel lustre, and the ghosting you see on both sides (a strongly struck example).

I feel like the the MS-67's in Canadian coins are just so rare that you really have to pay what you want to pay. It's more then MS-66 for sure but as long as you're offer more then that just throw something out there and see if it sticks if you love the coin you set the price just be reasonable about it, vice versa the sell can always reject it no one gets hurt.

Thanks spp-Ottawa and talonbat... Spp-Ottawa is the coin you referenced one from your own collection? If so, what a nice coin...the lustre is unreal... Anyone know where I can buy a decent 1967 high grade dime for a fair price ( with eye appeal like spp's of course!)?

The PCGS coin is 20 times better than the ICCS that you were looking at, they show up eventually

Quote: Spp-Ottawa is the coin you referenced one from your own collection? No, it was just a really nice MS-66 example in one of the PCGS Registry sets, to make a point.
