Very nice...I too am surprised people did not overbid. I usually never raise my hand when items like this are getting auctioned because people are bidding crazy amounts around me.

Very nice! I love how people around here don't pay too much attention to the folders of coins some good deals can be had. Haven't seen a lot like that though! Very cool and the reason I am going to auctions now. never know what you will find!

I am very experienced and at live auctions that aren't also online I'm a shark. Seems I was the biggest shark in the room on this one. Honestly I was ready to go up to around $1300, with my calculation and guesstimation telling me I wouldn't lose money at that price. I was thrilled when it hammered at $850. But honestly if you know what you're doing and others don't a small auction is like puddy in your hands.

See that vintage leather aviation skull cap. Got that for $40. Oh and I got this 10g solid 14k bracelet for $75.

They weren't even giving weights on gold!...
...Just saying "14k gold bracelet (or whatever) start me off, I got $10 give me $20 etc"

140 or so they said. And mentioned it was light as they average 200+. It didn't have any excitement really and that's death for an auction... to my benifit

Oh, and do these look familiar? Someone posted one a week or two ago they bought at an auction. I saw this lot and thought it was a sign so I had to get em. Think I overpaid maybe @ $60 for the 4 but the conditions are excellent. No rust no paint chipping they look darn near brand spankin new

You are up something like $50 to $60 in ASW spot gold as well, on that bracelet.
