This is my second 1950-D found in circulation after 80+ boxes. I guess you could say that I have an unfair advantage living in Denver though.

Thank you for the help. My first box of nickels was not bad I did not find any key dates but the ones that stood out were:
1 buffalo no date
1 1939
a bunch from 41
1 1983 proof
and a highly toned 1959 in great condition
Well it was enough to get another box I have been doing halfs but am trying something else due to skunks.

Congrats PHIL....funny, even though key-date 5c, one can get very nice grades for less than 30 dollars online...I'm going to look at Pop. Reports, and see what the highest grade found is(of course, someone may have a higher grade in their collection, and it's not in the official data)

Yep, 2009-P extremely difficult to find in circulation! Believe it or not, I've found only TWO 2009-P's to go along with the two 1950-D's!

$10 of CWR's yielded a 1942D,a 1945 S,and a 2009 D. Not bad for 5 rolls.

Phil5280 I also live in Denver and have not found a single one yet. Although I have found 8 2009 Ps. Not that they are comparable.

$10 in bank wrapped rolls produced a 1945 S War Nickel. $0.05 for $1.59 worth of silver is always good.

This talk of the 1950D had me curious, so I checked to confirm. I have now found every coin minted from 1938 to 1959, except for two. But one of them isn't the one you'd expect. I'm missing the 1950D AND the 1950. Makes me wonder if I don't have a mental block with the '1950'.

For reference, I'd guess I've been through ~100 boxes, but I haven't kept count.

Owassokie - i'll trade you a 1950 for a 1950D when you find one.

I've found 13 from 1950. not a single 1950D yet though.

stopped in a branch of my new credit union. I was bummed that they could only give me 10 rolls of nickels. But I found 2 War Nickels from those rolls! Very lucky. It was the same branch that gave me a full roll of BU 1963 nickels a few weeks ago. Lucky branch.
