Went through a box and found 34 pre 59's including 2 warnickels and a bu 1952. I threw back a mutilated and barely recognizable 1941. I later went through 10 loose rolls and found 7 pre 1959's including a 1938p as well as a 1994 brazilin centavos

Nice Find, Lizzyjo!
For some reason, D mint Warnickels are extra tough; way tougher than other ones.

Hey CND, do you ever use nic-a-date on your dateless buffalo's? Might reveal a key date.

AG, I use white vinegar for that. It'll wear down the coin, though, the longer you leave it in. Just a day or two ought to turn up a date, or a few numbers, anyway, from which you can usually make out a date. Try it on a dateless Buffalo, you'll see; it works pretty good.

AGCoinHunter,
If you look at each of my update posts, each time I find a Dateless Buffalo I list the revealed date. Early in the survey I found a dateless 1913s Type II, the key to the series.

Well, my short-lived nickel searching days have forcibly come to an end. I've been turned down by every bank in my area when I ask for boxes, and not because I was overdoing anything--I was putting a month between banks, even. I don't know where you and the rest live, coppernickeldaddy, but apparently all of your bank tellers aren't paranoid rednecks that either a.) stare at you like you're from outer space when you ask and then refuse to exchange more than one roll b.) ask you to leave the premises (with the implied threat of calling security or police) like you're a con artist or a robber c.) pretend to be okay with supplying nickels for a little while only to call out the manager in the middle of your second or third transaction there to tell you you're being cut off.
I have one box left to go through, but I'm not even sure I'll ever feel like it now.

pierrot, are you dumping at these banks as well? I have no issues getting nickels, but I am in a large metro area. I do get crazy looks from time to time but I have no problems walking out the door with at least 2 boxes at a time. Other times I just ask for customer rolls and they usually give me as many as they can. Only one time at a BBT I was told that I needed to be a customer in order to get rolls. I sweet talked them into $80 worth and still go there to get all their half dollars all the time.
If they wont give you coins because your not a business customer, go open a business account and tell them you need a box of XXX weekly for your business. Persistance is the key here.
Curious, what part of the country are you in?

Pierrot - use a bank that you have an account at. If they refuse, threaten to contact the regional manager to express your dissatisfaction.
