You are correct. Modern Jeffersons have better definition of detail in the steps making FS finds routine. I think that over time, we'll see that it's easier to find FS coins 30 years after minting than we can today. Finding FS '82s and '83s is very difficult. Keep in mind that while these two dates aren't variety related, lack of mint sets for this date (as I've read) make them desirable CRH finds in AU PS and MS grades. Cuds, trails....about anything. You never know when a gem will pop up. It's what makes CRH a fun pastime.
