I just realized what I posted yesterday was at the $12,500 mark. This is what I had for $10,000.

I've been reading this thread with great interest on & off for a month or so. I already collect older nickels, 1963 & back. Today I picked up 5 rolls at the credit union and looked through them. I found my first silver nickel! A 1942 P, I couldn't believe it! I am becoming hooked now. Ricky

Nickels were my first. I think with nickels you can find all sorts of coins!

Picked up some nickels today. One roll was labeled 1964 and truly was a solid roll of 64s. I don't know if that is a good or bad sign of what I'll find. Hoping for the best :)

Just finished $100 in CWR--first time in a long, long time.
Found a nice VF-ish 1949-D, an AU, spotted 1957, the usual handful of 1940s/50s, and a smattering of blazing 2015-Ds. No wars, no buffalos, and no foreign.
Oh, and I found *half* of a trick coin--no idea what happened to the rest of it.

Another box begun, and another find - 1955. I've now got all the nickels from the Eisenhower administration forward. Oddly enough, out of 18 remaining, 6 are prewar, 6 are war and 6 postwar - 4P/7D/7S. Makes me think I should plan for searching some boxes out west the next time I can travel out there. The highest minted of the yet missing clads are the 1946 D and the 1942.

Chip - 1910...nice! sa - check those 1964s for DDO / DDR (I hope they are all in excellent shape!) Finn - the other half is in the next box...welcome back to the hunt! dc - you continue to make progress; tougher to find the Ds and Ss on the East Coast, but not impossible as you know. Keep up the pace!

same box, just found a 1938! Now down to 17. The coin is a little abused but I'll certainly take it :)

Thanks Rackster! Unfortunately this will most likely be my retirement from doing full boxes. Of the three banks that are "close" to me, one does not stock coins in the vault and won't order or accept boxes without a fee, one is not open during hours that work with my schedule, and the one I got the coins from asked a whole bunch of questions, made a huge deal about getting them, and only stocks customer rolls. I may pick up a few stray rolls from time to time to stay on top of the newer releases, but my dream of finding the '39-D and the rest of the War Nickels will have to wait.

I finished a box tonight that yielded only a 1942P silver for me and a 1962 Panamanian coin for my son who just returned to college this past weekend.
