Did a 39 customer roll hunt this past weekend. Only excitement was flipping the 38 & 39's but no. Still at 3 for the quest. Finds
1- 38P
2- 39P
10-1940's
9- 1950's
0- Silver
7- AU/BU
1- Error
9- Canadian - 1 1980

I know what you mean about the flip. But the numbers are against us having too many successes. Still, a low number to go and time on hand to get there yet. Good luck on the next set of nickels!

Im missing the 38s.
Every 38 I see the obverse first, I slowly flip and use my finger to slowly reveal where the mint mark should be. Slow reveal.
And if I find the s mint mark first, I cover the date as I flip it, and reveal the 1, then the 9, and then I look for a 3....
i usually start calling aloud when either of these happens to help build the suspense, haha!

First time I did a $100 box today found 3 War Nickels a 1955 p. Not bad for my first box. May do another box soon. |

IM - Warning nickel boxes can cause addiction. Nice finds
Rackster & Skibdib - Cracking me up understanding the flip. My version in sliding any 38 or 39 to the side till the roll is done, pick up and stare at it with a wish be the one, quick flip, hold up to desk lamp, check with magnifying glass just in case of light mint mark. Repeat for second check. Put with rest of P mint

1943, 1944, 1945 all Philly mints. Got another box today found nothing....till the final roll found a near unc...probably high AU 1945S War Nickel. Incredible shape it is in. |

This is a 2000p nickel. Back of coin is perfect and as you can see the front rim is intact. What would cause this?  |

Greaser? I'm sure someone here will say its a Dryer Coin. I found one with a lump at the edge but the rim was intact and said its some sort of PMD buffing which pushed the material at the end. |
