Finished a box last night
2 Buffalos, 1927 and a dateless
1943P War Nickel
1949S that was a hole filler, only 7 holes more left.

Oddly enough, the War and dateless buffalo were stuck together via some black goo. Wish that happened more often. lol

My box last week was a skunk. My box tonight yielded a 1945S.

Well, I just kicked off my roll hunting career by buying out my local branch of BoA... a meager $40 worth of nickels. Most of the coins were in generic wrappers or reused String & Sons wrappers (kind of surprised to see those here in the Pacific NW), but one roll looked old and promising:

I saved it for last, but when looking through it had obviously been wrapped recently, as there were 2015's in it. I ended up finding 49 pre-1968 (that's what I chose to keep), including one really beautiful and lustrous 1947, one curved clip and a 2007-D with an interesting pentagon pattern made with shears or wire cutters.

I already mixed some other pre-68's in with my finds, but most were nothing photo-worthy. Here's the star of the show, the 1947. These pictures really don't do it justice. Also, it's *that* close to being FS (all but one steps are complete).





Then these three. An ugly 1981-D that appears to have some sort of clip (no Blakesley effect, though), a 1976-D that looks like a Dryer Coin, and... that.

As I said earlier, I just set up my BoA account yesterday, so I'm not quite familiar with the system yet. After I finished my first $40, I'm eager for more, so I just emailed my banker to ask if she could order me a box of nickels and two of cents. As soon as I get a chance, I'll transfer a bit more ($500) from the CU to the bank, so I can do halves. I started with $365. I would just transfer it all, but the CU gives much better interest. I plan on trying to put together a complete Jeff album from circulation.

Yes, a drier coin. What you are seeing is the metal folding over itself in a way.

This box had many upgrades (most AU/BU coins): 48D, 57, 57D, 58, 58D, 59D, 65, 66, 67, and 74D). The 1923 Buffalo filled a spot in my pickled nickel collection. I am trying to attribute the DDRs and RPMs, so I'll post pic's once I can dial in. 4 low mintage specimens (2 49S, 2 55) and few more under 20 million mintage. Still 10 nickels short on the 2015 project, but I was hoping to fill one more spot out of this box.
