Nice '83! I remember the day, when a roll of nice box found '82, would bring $60. Dang, I need another Jeff box.

Fioti - finding a roll today would be incredible. Last year I picked up five obw from Cleveland Bank at my local branch (in CT). Gem 60s nickels. I'd have gladly exchanged them for a roll of 82 or 83 nickels.
Thanks for the kind words! I hope your next box delivers a fun find to get you back into nickels. Good luck on the hunt!

Did 5 rolls today-2 CWR and 3 Bank Rolls
Found a 1970s, a 2009D, 3 Pre-64's, and 10 very nice Westward Journey coins. Don't seem to find those in decent shape too often

Don't expect much in just two rolls. See if you can get your hands on a couple of boxes.

Jon - Just wondering what's your find totals for silvers now. Also have you considered the Blackened set (stolen from nickelsearcher)for some keepers while you look for the low minters.
I just released around 500 hundred of the easier ones. Think I am going to go 30mil and under for keepers. Not quite yet where you are but getting there.

Frogman - I suspect my ratio is about 1 find per roll. What that means is that I find one nickel worth tallying for data or for further examination. I've not really been keeping close tabs on what I do keep, but perhaps 10-15 keepers per box and a few of those go back into circulation after closer study. So don't despair on coming up short. As Numisma points out, volume usually cures that issue. Good luck on the hunt!
Jon - a little below average for you; 3 keepers/3 boxes. But I'll bet your sort station is a bit tidier than mine!
Nickel - sounds like you're starting to settle in. While it doesn't cost much to keep nickels, there is a point where one considers a new level of optimization. I remember making the 30mil decision. It's helped with organization and allowed me to dedicate more time on typing the variety nickels I get. Don't forget to keep the higher grade finds from larger mintages. Good luck!

Rackster- I looked at your 2016 objective and have also started the process. Do not worry have not gotten rid of all extras but wondered why do I have stashed so many rolls of 40P, 41P,46P, 57P, 58P, 59P etc.. Still always try to save all the high end no matter years and will do error searching and roll\ filling (If and when I finish the set).
Just finished my 5th hunt of 2016, will post condensed finds shortly

No worries Frogman. I was just throwing out find rates in my neck-of-the-woods. Regarding the goal of 25,000 rolls: that was achieved long before we joined the forums. It would be interesting to know how many have been done and what gems were found along the way. I suspect we will never know. That might have been an interesting 2016 challenge for the group here though; keeping track of how many boxes/rolls we go through in a year. It's a large number for sure!
