Wait... so you posted a fake picture of a coin you already had but planted in the roll?

Quote: Yes, it is an 1861. Also, happy April Fools! You could put the box on ebay and say that their is probably gold in every roll like the rest of the scammer do and get $10K for a $100 box of nickels

Of course I would never do that, but I'm most of the way through the box and so far, it's been very good to me.

One of my better boxes. 31 pre-1960 Nickels, including two 1939's, a 1943-S, a 1944-P, and a 1945-D.

It seems like it's been a good year for silver this year. Maybe I'm just noticing it more?

Here are my totals for the box (besides the half eagle ). I tried to get a date off the buffalo, but had to put it in vinegar. It's so close- you can see where the digits are, but can't actually read them.
By the way, here are a few of the stats that excel keeps track of for me- 216 pre-60 total out of $768 searched (1.41% of all coins) Teens: 2 (1 P, 1 D) Twenties: 0 Thirties: 16 (15 P, 1 S) Forties: 84 (45 P, 19 D, 20 S) Fifties: 114 (19 P, 80 D, 15 S) Total by mint: 80 P, 100 D, 36 S War: 6 (4 different dates) Mintages below 10 million: 4 (all different dates, 1.85% of all pre-60) 2009: 2 P, 13 D Proof: 3 Canadian: 15 (11 cupronickel, 4 plated) Foreign: 3
I was also wondering who here has found the speared bison. I check all the D-mint bison nickels I find, and I get a lot of them (often up to 3 per roll).

Cool! Glad it was a good box! As for the speared bison, I got a roll of them in the last box but no luck either.
