Quote: Wow. I find one every four boxes or so. I have found more silver nickels that 2009 nickels! Very nice. Thanks, aristarchus Quote: That seems odd. I find about 1.199 2009-Ds per box, and one P every 5.84 boxes. I guess out here on the West coast the 2009-Ds are more plentiful (if you want to call it that) than in the rest of the country. I find about 3.5 2009-Ds per box on average. In contrast, I find only about 1 2009-P every 5.5 boxes. I have a feeling that some parts of the country didn't get ANY 2009 nickels distributed to their banks. This could account for the vast differences in scarcity across the country.

Excellent box, CoinRumbles!
Out of curiosity, what is the year of the S-minted coin I saw on the last row?

Excellent box! I always love finding Buffalo nickels. They are much more fun than than War Nickels. A while back I had about half a box with eleven in it.

Well, my box worth of nickels today got me 23 pre-60s and 2 2009-Ds, but nothing notable. Onto Tuesday.

I suggest giving it a bath in vinegar to get a date off.

Turned up 26 pre-60s in my 49 rolls of nickels today. No silver or Buffalo finds, but I did get a nice EF 51-S and a 38 Philly along with 6 2009-Ds.

Quote: I just stopped by the bank today and picked up a box of nickels to search... skunk. all 2016D rolls. That's one of the main reasons I don't get boxes... the rare time that I do, I make sure I open it in the bank or have the teller do so before taking it. I was going to get nickels at my normal branch and my teller just had gotten a new box, but about 7-8 rolls into my batch of 25 I noticed all of the rolls she was handing me were brand new. She knows I don't like the newbies... so she took them back and apologized and gave me the remaining 4 rolls left in her bin which weren't new. I went across the street to one of my alternate banks and got the rest of my afternoon rolls (19 of which were CWR) there. The '38 and '51-S were both in those rolls.
