Stopped at the bank where I've been getting all the buffalo's to see if she had any more loomis rolls and unfortunately she said she didn't have anymore. She said she is real low on nickels. This particular bank I usually swap a box for a box and I return them with the rolls marked so she knows I have been through them. She uses the marked rolls for her business customers. So she said she ordered more this week and they should be in next week. She only gives out my marked rolls unless she is forced to sell some that are not marked. She is such a sweetheart. She said that she has never had anybody that she knows go through coins like I have, and she thinks its great hobby and has been very helpful in helping me out. She even saved a coin for me today which I will post in the dime thread.

Thanks, guys.... Well, the well had to run dry eventually... and today it finally did. 31 rolls yielded only 9 pre-60s, just one of which was older than 1954 (a 1947 Philly)... But no complaints here! That 7 day War Nickel streak was fun... Now tomorrow, just need to start another streak!

The best part of a streak ending is knowing that a new one could begin. Good luck!

30 rolls produced 11 pre-60s highlighted by a 48-S and a 58 Philly... along with 3 09-Ds... but again no silver - don't worry though, another denomination took care of that for me yesterday. :)

I saw the dime. Hopefully the next nickel streak will start sooner rather than later.

Quote: I saw the dime. Hopefully the next nickel streak will start sooner rather than later. And it did... got a batch of 25 LOOMIS rolls in the morning, and the very first roll had a 43-P! The 2nd roll though was what made the day... saw a nice looking 1939 nickel staring at me, I flipped it over and the S was there! Strangely, the other 23 rolls only had 4 pre-60s, but I didn't care! I got two very nice keepers! I did go back later and get some more rolls from 2 different tellers... 15 Generic MWRs, and 10 String&Sons MWRs... Following is a little breakdown of the results: Type Qty P60 Notables Loomis 25 6 1938-S, 1943-P, 2009-D (2) Generic 15 7 2009-P, 2009-D (3) String& 10 8 2009-D I've had some very good luck with the String&Sons rolls there of late as you can see by the ratios in this sample... will likely get some more of those and the LOOMIS rolls, and hope to hit some more gold!

Thanks, Rackster! Yesterday's batch had 13 pre-60s in 36 rolls, highlighted by a 46-S... also had two 2009-Ds, and my first proof 1969-S.

Quote: and my first proof 1969-S. That's a fun find, John77. Proofs are exciting, as they stand out. I did a box and found, well, nothing. Probably my worst box ever! Each MWR roll had a lot of 2016s.

Thanks, aristarchus123. This one had circulated quite a bit - so much so, that the first thing I noticed was that it had some steps still, rather than the reflective fields indicative of a proof. The mirrors are there, but barely.
Sorry about your bad box... it happens. I had an infamous batch of 25 MWRs which yielded 2 pre-60s one time... and I got 12 MWRS from one of my tellers on Saturday in the above batch, and there wasn't a single coin dated before 1962... thankfully, the 24 MWRs I got from another teller later that day were more productive. Now I'm just waiting for it to be 9am local time so I can start the process all over again.
