600,000 nickels and only one 2009! I'll bet you never would have guessed that when you started this project.

XoG,
Each of the updates that I post is two boxes; each box had a Fish Nickel!
Youngfee101 and AndrewC,
Tell me about it! 2009's are, at least for me, next to impossible!

Congrats on the 45-D Yinzi50 ..... that's a nice looking set you have there. Quick update from me at 144,800 coins searched .... just found my 2nd ever 49-S, and at VF is a nice upgrade on the beat-up original find I made a while back. I give it one dancing fruit. David

2 boxes (100 rolls) today: Box 1 - 21 pre 60's including a 38D Box 2 - 21 pre 60's plus 2 War Nickels. (44S and 45S) On a different note, not a find of a nickel find but... - I help collect and count offering for the church that I attend. (You know where this is going) Counting the $5 bills and came across a unique one. Happens to be a Silver Certificate blue seal 1934 Series. Thank the good Lord for that one...

Way to go, Yinzi50!
The 38s isn't a real killer; you should complete your set very shortly. Congratulations!

Went through two boxes this weekend. First one was my worst ever only 16 pre-60's of which 9 were 57D-58D-59D's, suppose that can't all be winners. The second box was a different story. After going through about 15-20 boxes, I came across my first proof, an 83S...then about 6 rolls later, my second proof a 91S. Both have definitely done a little circulating, but fun finds nonetheless. That box also produced a 45D War Nickel and a total of 29 pre-60's. I've started tallying my finds on a spreadsheet (can you tell I'm a CPA?) and here are my find-rates through 13 boxes tallied.
rolls per per box total
Total 30's 50.00 1.00 13
Total 40's 5.75 8.69 113
Total War 92.86 0.54 7
Total 50's 3.16 15.85 206
Pre - 60's 1.94 25.77 335
Buffalos 216.67 0.23 3
Proofs 325.00 0.15 2And oh yeah, the 2nd box also produced a pretty rough looking 58 which was one I still needed. I'm down to 5 left (other than the 09's) 39S, 44D, 50, 50D, & 55. I'm getting there!

Amazing. That is some very serious nickels searching going on. My first box was not so lucky.
