My son has been begging for a nickel box to search. I can't really afford to keep $100 out of my bank account for very long, but I figure he can have a day. He has lots of energy, and he only searches for date/mintmarks, not varieties--no microscopes and step counting for him.
Anyway, he'll be getting his first box of nickels this afternoon; tomorrow, it will become a box of pennies and a deposit.

Worked through most of a box yesterday. Found a 44-D which was on my still needed list. I've had a most fruitful week, through 3 boxes since last Sunday and filled three holes: 58, 39-S and now the 44-D. That leaves me needing: 50, 50-D and 55. Been a good week!

Quote: This 50D is much better than last one I found. Geepers ..... amazing finds Yinzi50 ...... congratulations on your 2nd 50-D ..... and I still wonder what your chiropractor bill must look like after searching 3200 rolls in a little more than a month. Quote: Found a 44-D which was on my still needed list. Hey .... I need that one! I say you are well on your way Dylans Dad ..... that 50-P and 55-P should show up with a reasonable effort on your behalf ..... and you can always go steal some boxes from Yinzi50 to find the elusive 50-D. Well, my son got his box and found a '46-D and a '51 as well as some upgrades. Those, along with the LP3-D my wife got in change, made for a good day for him.

Thanks Gothic Florin! Did I mention icy weather and stay in home for the weekend?
Thanks Nickelsearcher! I am more concerned about my eyes instead of my neck and muscles. I used to work out in the gym regularly until I got into coins. This CRH is way too addicting! I haven't been to the gym over a month! I think I can still bench 225 lbs, I mean, I think. On the other hand, I put as many lamps as possilbe on the desk when I am doing Nickels so my eyes won't get stressed.

I see everybody is finding the good stuff! I couldn't get any boxes today. I went to the bank with my bag of nickels to run through the CoinStar! About a quarter of the way through the machine shut down because it was full. Hopefully the situation will be remedied tomorrow.

Plugged my last few boxes into my spreadsheet before I headed to bed last night. Since I did start with a partial set put together about 20 years ago, I wanted to see how many holes I'd still have if I started from scratch. Looks like I'd be about 11 short through 15 boxes in the last couple months.
Just some trivia there.

Today 145 rolls (Brinks box +36 rolls and 59 customer wrapped). 3 War Nickels (43P,44P,44D) 1938D Fine (dark with a couple small rim dings on reverse) 1982P Cud around the 1:00 position. (my 2nd Cud find) That leaves me still needing 39S for 2nd set, and 38S,39S,50D for 3rd set.

One more box down.
Two more holes filled: 48D and 51D. Two more war nicks: 42S and 44P. No other keys.
