Congrats on the 1911 V nickel, 98Dodger! Only 4 pre-60s from my latest batch of 1,000 MWR (all were "commons"), but the good news is there were two 2009-Ds! *For those who don't know, I (and many others) refer to the seven most-commonly found pre-1960 nickels as "commons" - 1940, 1941, 1946, 1956-D, 1957-D, 1958-D, and 1959-D.

Picked up $20 at my local CU, machine wrapped. Got a 1942-P War Nickel (badly worn), a spectacular 1968-D that looks almost new, and a bunch of hornets nests and die chips. I also got half a roll worth of what I'm calling Jefferson's Doorstop, that weird little object at the corner floor of the right arch. Although I think people are making a good case to call it Jefferson's Morning Paper or something else. Haven't even searched the 1960-2003 yet, and that's the bulk of the nickels (along with circulated post-2006 stuff).

3,680 nickels bought and searched on Saturday brought me a 1943-P War Nickel, an impaired 1977-S Proof, and 2 2009-Ds... along with a couple of interesting error coins.

Thanks, all... Believe it or not, I had much better luck today than on Saturday at my normal branch getting just 1,000 MWR of nickels... my regular "lucky" teller has been on vacay since this past Wednesday or Thursday... the last two batches of nickels I got there while she was gone were pretty uneventful (just 9 pre-60s and 1 2009-D along with a 1977-S proof amongst 2,000 coins from two of the male tellers)... This morning, the teller who I got the 1915-S Buffalo from was there. I was hoping I'd get her again soon at some point - I actually passed over one of the male tellers I've had absolutely no luck from at all (other than a silver quarter one time) just to get her again... That proved to be a very prudent decision as her batch had 15 pre-60s including a 1926 Buffalo, my first 1942-P War Nickel of the year, and a 1958 Philly, along with three 2009-Ds... For the 2023 calendar year, my 1938-1961 Jefferson nickel book is complete save for the 1939-D, 1943-D, and 1944-D coins
