So on Wednesday it happened AGAIN... and not once, but twice... with the same teller... my standard 1000 MWR brought me a single 2009-D and 8 pre-60s, including these two! I've now found 5 V nickels this year, incredibly, they've all come from MWR from the same teller! This time it was a 1903 and a 1912. My first ever found of BOTH dates... I've now found every V nickel made from 1900-1912 except for 1905, 1906, 1908, 1909, and, not surprisingly, the rare 1912-S. So good was this group that I made an unscheduled visit to my bank the next day to get the rest of said box... no luck (actually only 3 pre-60s amongst 1000 MWR)...

Wow man! Send some of that good juju this way, John77!
It's been a roller coaster week in SC as it seems our hunts are turning up fewer and fewer finds (maybe 1 out of every 4-5 rolls) but overall quality has been good. We're on a silver streak with one of our last 3 slots filled after a 45 D turned up, plus we also pulled a 44 P and an elusive 43 D. One dateless Buffalo that was slicker than snot and now just waiting to slot a 44 D and the 50 D.

Thanks all. Another 40 rolls searched yesterday and it was a solid hunt. Lots of pre-1960...17 including a solitary War Nickel (44 P...we needed the D!), a 1923 P buffalo, and a few other AU/UNC newer nickels to go in a second album that dates from 1938 to current. One of the rolls was all UNC 2014 P except for a lonely 62 D, but still happy to keep the silver streak going. Now to reroll them all...

Wow man! Send some of that good juju this way, John77! Will try, pound_foolish... I've had a 4 1/2 month run of good luck with nickels, almost entirely from ONE teller - you can't have her lol. ----- Another amazing week of finds, almost all from my same lucky teller... 7/24: 1,000 MWR produced only 6 pre-60s, but they included a 1942-S and a 1950! 7/26: My teller slipped me a lone CWR that she had received - not a single coin in the roll was dated after 1974 - most were pre-1965.. there were 12 pre-60s including a 1943-S! The 960 MWR she gave me only had four pre-60s, but they also included this nice 1988-P MAD (10% off-center on the obverse)! 7/27: They sent my teller to another branch for the day... her fill-in only had 240 CWR, but they were productive - 4 pre-60s including this shiny 1953-D! 7/28: My teller was back and 1,000 MWR produced 8 pre-60s including 1942-S and 1945-S War Nickels! 7/29: Bought 1,120 nickels (280 MWR, 840 CWR) from two branches... only 5 pre-60s between them including the tough '53-S, but there was a 2009-P and a 2009-D (both a little damaged) amongst the other coins.

When you say 1000 MWR, do you mean 1000 nickels ($50), or do you mean 1000 $2 rolls? Either way, that's a lot of nickels to go through every few days!

Four War Nickels and a semi key date? Can't get mad at that.
