I just moved into a new house, so in the process of packing stuff up, I found all sorts of forgotten treasures. Apparently, I saved a few Kennedy half dollars found in pocket change and stuck them in a souvenir cup a couple decades ago. Today I took a closer look and noticed this 1995-D which has to be the best Kennedy I have ever found in circulation. Opinions on grade? Is it at least a MS63?

I think no less than 63 is right, maybe a 64 or 65 depending on how brilliant the surfaces are. Can't quite tell, have to give it a swirl in the light. Looks nice.

It only costs you 50c to keep it. If you like it - keep it. Not like you can buy ANYTHING for 50c these days.

I would keep it "just because" since you have saved it all these years. These don't show up that much in circulation anymore and as moxking just mentioned 50 cents doesn't go very far anyway.

Yeah, it's the only 1995-D I have, so I'm keeping it. I was just amazed how nice it was for finding it in pocket change. I'm also trying to improve my grading skills, that's another reason I posted. I know it'll never be worth much, that's not why I collect coins.

Ok...maybe I'm naive on this but I cant see how a coin found in circulation be designated as uncirculated.

My local supermarket in town used to sell Hershey's Chocolate bars for $0.59 and some other candy, but then they moved them up to $0.75

Actually a good question. "Uncirculated," for coins, is not a description of the coins actual usage. It is a description of what a coin looks like if straight from the mint. If a coin retains its details, luster, and had no wear, then the coin is in an "uncirculated" condition.
