One iconic scene from old cartoons is someone who has just discovered buried treasure taking a running leap and diving into the loot, then picking up the coins and showering them over their head, as if they were bathing in them. Have you ever done this? I sort of did, although not with coins. When I sold my first used car, the guy gave me $1000--all in twenties. To celebrate, I put the bills on my bedroom floor and rolled around in them, enjoying the spoils of being a temporary sultan. If I were to choose a coin type to jump into, I'd want it to a pile of uncirculated 1964 Kennedy halves. There's nothing like the shine of 90% silver, as well as that elegant "ting" sound of a silver. And they're nice and big and heavy--like a really valuable coin should be. Which would be your coin of choice to bathe in? Edited by jpsned 01/02/2016 6:19 pm

One of my first jobs in high school was a server at a restaurant. I saved up close to $500 in 1's and felt like John Rockefeller. I paid for engine work on my car in 1's. I thought it was great; the mechanic must have hated me.

I just LOVE shiny pennies. Looking at them turning them over and enjoying the beauty. So for me it might be shiny copper coinage from around the world!
