Hi there,

I just registered and wanted to introduce myself. I am a 26 y. old coin collector from Berlin, Germany. I started collecting when I was little, gathering every foreign coin that I could find. At some point I got really interested in every coin that was old. At this point, I was just hoarding coins...

About 2 or 3 years ago I rediscovered my collection and immediately got hooked on coins again (before, when I was around 20 and had other things in mind ;) ). I mainly collect coins from regions, where my ancestors come from: Prussia and Saxe Weimar Eisenach but also other coins from the German Empire and former German colonies and territories such as German East Africa and the Free City of Danzig.
Nevertheless, sometimes I stumble across a coin that I really like at first glance so I've also got many other foreign coins in my collection.

I hope to find some time to present a couple of my German States beauties and I am looking forward contribute with help in identifiying some coins. At some point I might even find someone who wants to swap coins, we will see :)

Best regards from Berlin

Sebastian

Hi Potsdam (Sebastian) - Germany has many beautiful coins which I am sure many of us would enjoy seeing.

I was in Hamburg many years ago and had a fantastic time - always wanted to go back again. May still have change lingering around from my Marks.... :)

Please be welcome - this is a wonderful place to learn and share..there are many experts here who are very pleased to help the rest of us and answer questions...

Hope you will enjoy your time with us.....

Sebastian, you've just about described my haphazard type of collecting. You might want to watch out for military script and older coins from locality minting. Also, a book called 'Electricity' by Edward Leedskalnin. Scratch that, it goes off subject.

Welcome to the CCF community. Here's a hug for a fellow collector of this, that, and the other.
