I found an error coin today that I will post pictures of later tonight but I have never seen an error like this before. All details are in a VG/F condition or better, but it is missing a date all together. The star prior to the date is present but half gone on the date side. Has anyone ever seen something like that before? I will post pictures as soon as I can.

Not a very good job, they left way too many scratches when they removed the date!

to the CCF

Definitely man made ... in addition to the abrasive scratches remaining on the surface you can clearly see where the rim is also filed down adjacent to where the date was removed.

The scratches are a big clue, but the missing rim in that area is a second one.
