Quote: Another good one was $25 "The Coat of Arms" pure silver 1oz Piedfort coin. 6000 mintage, CAD 100 This coin was listed in the RCM Press Release for the January release - I was wondering if it was going to be a standalone January release or part of February's. Now I know! If it's done well, it might be one of the RCM's non-silver dollar releases in which I have interest!

Quote: I doubt there is anything flippable in this next release, except for selling for less. The RCM is lowering the mintage of coins to 6000 coins. If it was last year, the mintage for the curved coin and the coat of arms coin would be 7500. But 6000 is still too high; it needs to be around 2000 for coins to maintain their value.

It's done like coin suppose to be I saw the picture 2 days ago and do not remember the small details. On the Reverse on the mirror surface the Coat of Arms (frosted, brilliant or mix - can't say). "CANADA" - above and "25 Dollars" - below - but I am not 100% sure here. On the picture the Coat of Arms looks very sharp, but I doubt that the relief is raised high (sure it raised). I want this coin, but not for the issue. Keeping in mind the "Big 50cents" I feel already "safe" with Coat of Arms theme, so the coming coin will try to get for reduced price.

The coat of arms coin, the reverse is a proof finish but the obverse is not shown in the add, but as you mentioned 6000 is still a lot to absorb in this market place.

Thanks for other forum posting (I forgot about it): for February release, but already available: New Series! Innovation lovers, Limited mintage (production) seekers, Enhancement appreciators, this is for you: Ounce of Space series: Walking Liberty on Moon with real Moon meteorite.( currently ASE, but seems to be SML soon!!) Only 1000 units produced, means only 1000 collectors may own the Real Moon meteorite piece embedded into the coin. available at First Coin Company, but all waiting for Toronto located dealer response about his plans for this coin. **BTW: what is the "Moon Meteorite"? Is this meteorite that arrived to the Earth from the Moon, or meteorite found on the moon arrived from the space? Or it just pieces of Moon stones (which also great), or it pieces of the stones from someones yard (which is possible)?

You right John, the collector without access to special equipment will never know.....since it 3-rd party enchancement, better to refer to this as "funny collectible". I thought, they will enchance SML too, but seems to be, this will ASE series. Asked the owner of the local PO, he told that due to increased amount of releases and very low demand, he will be ordering only 1-2 items per release ahead, and everything else as per demand of the customers.... I saw, he cleaned up some 2005-2006 stuff and now has some 2013-2015 items.

Received the Mint catalogue in the mail today. Nothing really interesting and some of the coins are terrible - 4 leaf clover, 2 oz geese, 1 oz blue bird. The egg coin is kind of gimmicky in my opinion. I like the simplicity of the coat of arms but it's too expensive...same with the Library of Parliament. Nothing for me this month. FYI, the 129.95 RCM Logo case is available. Looks the same as the MC one except for the logo.

I agree with you CC. I got the email from my rep. I do like the baby raccoon coin. I'm sure you'll be able to get it cheaper in a couple months..... I really don't understand the "egg coin"

Thanks MTS for URL with explain provided.
I will join to the people who said that this is just gimmicky maid item. I think, the Ukranians will care about this coin same as Hindi about "Diwali" coin. They do not need expensive souvenir, and the coin collectors that among them collect more traditional numismatics. (I found here same dis-balance as for Diwali - why just not to create inexpensive Silver or CuNi coin, to allow to the many people from the community to own it).
