1953-S Lincoln Cent RPM 1MM-003

This 1953-S lincoln has a secondary mint mark visible through the die wear. The orange peel kind does look like an orange or grapefruit.

In the neck area is the die crack, chip or something else?

Looks like a clash above liberty behind head.

some poor man's die wear on the last digit of the date 3

die crack from bottom shoulder up and into the head area

die cracks on both left and right wheat stalks

I live in a huge retirement area with 4 LCS, a coin club with over 80 members and 5 flea markets each with 4 plus coin venders I buy bu rolls for cheap off my friend that own lcs. no one looks for varieties so I can trade another bu coin for variety.

You are very lucky to have a LCS like that. The only way I can get BU rolls is off ebay for ridiculous premiums.

As for the coin possibly a die gouge on the neck?

Could there have been die gouges that they overpolished to try to remove, and that is why the edges of the neckline are poorly defined?

There was definitely a clash event. The C of Cent can be seen above the Y of Liberty . What you see on the neck is probably a gouge or dent.

The C clash above TY is fresh and unabraded, very nice. This coin is what I'd call terminal die state! Maybe a new term...TDS. Nice group of errors. Are these markers described in the last stage or is this a new stage for the RPM?

The dies suffered a few heavy die polishing and show die wear on both dies. The mark near the Jaw looks like die gouges. (a die issue) There is also evidence of a clash behind the neck. the cracks also lend to the die as having a lot of age with Die Deterioration showing on the outside devices.
