Of course, lets guess the grade. Better than the grade for my Numismatic goals; this was just confirmed by Mr. Fortin to be an A-1/G-101/F-101. Gerry Fortin gives this an R6 on the Sheldon Scale (Very Rare 13 to 30 Pieces). Per Fortin's Web Book: Quote:This date placement variety is the rarest of the five known Short Flag 1 varieties. After 15 years of searching out examples of 1869 Short Flag 1 dimes, I have located two examples that graded F12 and the plate coin purchased from an ebay seller in Argentina. This rare date placement variety can be identified by a nearly level date that is positioned high and far right. (DR2C) He gives it a premium, which of course only applies to the variety hunters of our hobby, of up to 300% of book value. The cost of beauty would truly only be in the eye of the beholder for that type of markup. I am going to send it back to PCGS for a variety attribution. Enjoy thanks for looking

I'll agree with 30, with a shot at 35.

Quote: new plate coin, DS? Sadly, no. Mr. Fortin has an AU50 that he mentions purchasing from the eBayer in Argentina. It would have made my 6th plate coin on his web book. He was excited for me though. They are difficult to locate.

VF30 I could also see VF25 I don't think it goes higher than 30 due to obverse wear.
