Just to state the obvious, I am new on here. I know nothing of Coins, I am not really a collector I am more of a haver, I have quite a few coins that I have accumulated over the years & I am also in the process of cleaning out my Dads, my uncles & my grandparents stuff so I am finding more. I am guessing most of them will be worthless junk but I will be needing help with what is worth keeping (to possibly sell) or what to melt down/scrap/throw at road signs etc
Cheers Brenton

when you get ready to post pictures (and we like pictures), try to post them in the correct section. There are sections for US, UK, Australian, Canadian, and general world coins. And within those, there are usually sub-sections for grading and variety/errors

Your coins may not be very valuable on the market but I seriously doubt that they are worthless junk. Anything that's been in a family for three generations has to have some sentimental value and coins make nice little keepsakes to pass on to the next generation. I hope you have fun learning about what you have!

Also remember DO NOT CLEAN THEM. Numismatists and collectors value original surface and the effects of actual circulation. Clean them and you will ruin any value they may have. to CCF

Thanks for welcome Guys & Gals
When saying "cleaning a coin will ruin the value", if a coin can't be identified without some cleaning, I guess condition will make it pretty worthless anyway? Now were to start?
