Hey all. I just started collecting and I have a question about this quarter.

Is it just ware or a bad mint?

Thank you

to CCF. Looks like a normal quarter with normal circulation wear. What are you seeing specifically?

Moderately circulated coin. I would expect this sort of wear from a 35 year old quarter.

I was thinking that the last A in the word America may have been a stamping error. Thank you so much for you quick responses and help :)
I am barely beginning this happy and trying to learn what to look for on the coins.
Would anybody be able to explain to me how to spot errors in coloring on the coins. I've looked at photos online and seen some obvious dye marks, but there's other photos that claim to have errors in coloring, but look completely normal to me....

To me it appears as though the A in America took a couple of hits and the metal got distorted.

I don't know what you mean by 'coloring' errors.

Welcome to the forums :) . It is hard to say from the pictures but it looks like the A might have had some damage or possible die chip that caused the look of extra metal and filled A . Just listen to what others say and take nothing to heart. It gets easier and easier as you go to tell your errors apart. Have fun and save some coins for me
