Ok, so I don't normally buy nickels... I really have never collected them but sometimes when buying other coins an opportunity like this one presents itself. First off, I bought 18 Buffalo nickels for ten cents each. After buying some other coins from her she said she was just going to take them to the bank and deposit them... In this lot was one that looked crappy and weathered... When I got home I looked at the dates and saw the junk looking one is a 1915 D. Now, granted it is not in great condition... I don't know how or if I should even try to restore it... but here it is in all it's ugliness... Is it still worth at least 10 cents in this condition?

F12 details I'm sure you could easily sell it for triple what you paid Don't spend it all in one place.

Rest in Peace

Yes ... It is worth the price.

Good hole filler.

There is no way, that I know of, to restore one in this state

Would vinegar help restore it? Just sucks that it's in this bad of condition. :(

Vinegar might help the look, but not the value. I'd keep it natural, unless you really want to do the science experiment.

It's worth at least ten cents. You could probably sell it for more.
Rest in Peace

Actually you can use a little vinegar & oil; If it doesn't work - you can use it for your salad.
