Looking threw my dimes and I found this 1989D with what looks like a sideways M under the M. The D and Ialso has somethimg going on with it. I will try getting a better picture in the sunlight later. This is a good as it gets for now.

It's definitely interesting. Unfortunately, I can't confirm or deny anything about it.

Lets get some pictures not quite as close as the 3rd and 4th ones you have posted. I see what you are asking about but being right on top of it doesn't give me as much to work with as I like. You have to see more of the entire area. Back up a hair and shoot a few more shots. The shape of the anomaly is interesting. let's see what you have:-)

I had a dime just like this the other day. If I find it I will try to get pictures and maybe this can be solved.

I agree with foundinrolls. A middle size shot would be great, plus a shot of the whole reverse and obverse. I see the second M but it almost looks as if were hit with some kind of post mint M shaped die. The details are sunken also not just the field. Tough call. I would like to see the obverse to see if there is any damage in the corresponding area.

I added a few more pictures of this coin. Not much better but different. Going to get me a nice coin microscope here in about a month. Then I will be shooting some nice pictures.

I don't know what it is, but I like it. I like anything that you can see with the naked eye and I keep them all - even if it's nothing special. At least it's different.
