Was looking threw my Jeffersons tonight and spotted this 1963. It appears to have some doubling on the U_M. Mechanical or Die? Leaning towards mechanical but thought I would ask for opinions.

O D D, great example of Machine Doubling. By the way, there is no such thing as Mechanical Doubling. Something I learned myself on this forum.

Okay...first, there is no such thing as Mechanical Doubling OR die doubling. It's either Machine Doubling or hub doubling.

And this one is Machine Doubling.

The doubling on a doubled die is caused by the hub in the hubbing process. Its proper term is 'hub doubling' and the result is a 'doubled die'.

ICherrypicker's 4th Ed. vol.2 pg403 paragraph 2, mentions the term Mechanical Doubling. It argues the usage of machine, mechanical and Strike Doubling.

Some one make up they're mind. Been corrected on these terms a few times now. One book reads mechanical and someone else say machine..
