Found this nickle at work today, I can't even see the date or read anything on it. It's evenly distorted, even on the edge, it feels real smooth, but out of focus. Can anyone tell me what caused this?

Hoo boy that coin has seen better days. I won't hazard a guess as to what caused it but it's a spender.

The sewer system leeches the copper. There are made of copper and nickel.
