I see some split serif on the bottom but I don't see an s/d ether.

The hit well below the S continues to the S and gives it that "bunched up" look.

The photo looks as if the coin is tilted away from us. Can you get a clear straight on shot?

It is a minor RPM. (split lower serif) But the raised area may have been from a damaged punch.

Minor RPD coupled with damaged punch. Is it just me or are there a lot of damaged punches in the late 40s early 50s?
