Thinking about starting a set of SBAs graded 65 or higher for the circulation strikes and nothing lower 69 deep/ultra cameo for the proofs. With only about 10 in the set and few major varities, it should be a fairly easy set to complete.
Anyone have pics of a nice Susan B collection? Share them if you got 'em :) Edited by ElonU 02/14/2016 4:42 pm

True Gem '81-S's are tougher than the pop reports would have you believe. I'd call about .5% of mint set coins true Gems.
The near date is a bear as well.
Good luck.

Hiya, ElonU. I don't have a slabbed set but I did complete my Whitman Classic in the last year or so (with the exception of the Type II proofs). By my count (with the Type-II Proofs and the 1999's) it's 17 for the set. I just scanned my photos and I could have sworn I had taken pics. I can't find any so I'll try to do some in the next day or two when it's daylight and the photos will actually turn out (my office is very dark). Good luck if you decide to do this and I hope you'll regale us with photos.

Cool Celtic Knot! Would love to see them!
I'm taking a break from Franklins, so I'm going after my second favorite coin growing up. I've had some pretty good success here early on with some cheap buys of graded SBAs. Going to have to wait until next paycheck to pick up more :)

1981-s Type II will be a bear to get in PF-69. Lowest I was able to see was $200

Finn, you can get the 1981-S Type II PF69 for about $100 off ebay......not too big of a deal!

Took some quick pictures of one of my SBA albums. This was a series I was never interested in doing. But last year some members started posting those and I ended up doing a Dansco one, and somewhere I have most of a Littleton album going. Right now I am considering this album complete, because at this point the 1981 S TY II is a DNW coin.

Nice looking album. Did you get a photo of the second page?

Quote: Did you get a photo of the second page? oops .. not sure how I did that ... I guess starting my 59th trip around the sun ... is somehow affecting my attention to detail. I will fix that ...

Quote: And as Y'all can see ...I borrowed the mint token idea from Jbuck Yes, I noticed that. Excellent idea! For those who do not know, my SBA collection is a blank SBA page with sixteen holes. My set is date-mint issues only, no varieties, which is fifteen coins. I used the medal from my 1982 proof set to fill the 16th hole.
