Man you got some serious bank the way you are knocking out these keys.

I am learning to grade these so take my grade with a grain of salt. Overall I would say AU but the feather tips and the lines in the shield are weak. XF?

This being an S mint coin I am not sure if this a weak strike or wear.

There also appears to be some vertical lines on this coin. Has it been cleaned?

I look forward to those more familiar to weigh in on this nice key.

VF30

Although, it is odd how the dirt halos the devices. This can be a characteristic of a cleaned coin. Perhaps someone just used soap and water which isn't necessarily bad.

No, this one did not come from the same place as the fake 1909-S

1sikevo,

Are you referring to this 09-S. If so can you educate me as to where the counterfeit can be detected?

Thanks,

Jim-
I posted my findings in the US coin forum. I had a lot of help and it was a very educational and humbling experience.

OK. I just read about spark erosion fakes. Thanks for the education and glad your getting your money back.

The purchase of key date coins is where the TPG's existence is justified.

I was wondering if the sheen on that coin isn't from long-term storage in cellphane. Is there a residual sheen all over the coin or is that bare metal?

jhs - There's no long term storage... it's a fake. It was rubbed and lightly banged up to imitate light circulation.
