When I first looked at this ebay listing, 331776903329, I didn't think the pictures all showed the same coin (see red arrows), but then I noticed a nick (see blue arrows).

Question: In the middle picture, what would cause the apparent doubling of Lincoln's back? Is it that apparent on a genuine error coin?

There is no doubling of the bust on a genuine coin. I believe what we are seeing is a reflection through the cellophane 2x2.

No returns? I'll pass...
Rest in Peace

I'd agree on the reflection for the apparent doubling of the back of the portrait. This isn't one that I'd probably be interested in simply because there are no returns.

That's a pretty big issue on a raw $1000 coin.

LOL, ebay is gonna loose $1000 if they let this one sell. I do not believe all of the photos are the same coin. Notice the doubling of the bust in the last photo. No cellophane to reflect on that one. None of the photos are quality. None of them can be zommed in on. With no returns, it reaks of FAKE.

High dollar coins on ebay that are not TPG'd are not TPG'd for a reason.

Usually that reason comes down to one of two things::

1). The coin is either cleaned or damaged

OR

2). The coin is either counterfeit or altered to be something it isn't.

This 55 DDO might even have both problems!

Most of the 1955 DDO counterfeits were cast copies from an original 1955 regular coin. This could account for the gouge you seem to think is similar in each of the photos.

Look at the three images in the OP post. The center coin does not even look like a legit cent. The buse is very muted and where are all the scratches in front of the face? Then this supposed "doubling on the back of the bust others have said they thought it might be a reflection. So where is the reflection of the collar? Someone is going to snag this thing up thinking they got the steal of a lifetime, only it they that were stolen from.
