Hello all. New to the forum. Only have a few coins that I have picked up over time, most worth little to nothing. But I do have a 1973 penny which I found years ago that is double stamped with 1973 clearly stamped twice, one under the other. The coin was rotated so much between stamps that the word TRUST has a fainter U between the S and T. The Memorial on the back is also double stamped which shows up mostly at the corners of it's base. Slightly out of round due to double stamp. Can't find any info on a coin like this. Is it worth anything or just a curiousity?

Clear photos are a must to determine what you have and any value.

Thanks. Don't have a good camera and the phone is not letting me link to this computer, so will have to wait on this. Next time one of the kids is here, I'll post a pic.

Stamps are stamped. Coins are struck. Business strike coins are usually only struck once. If a coin was doubled struck then it could have two different sets of devices on both sides of the coin. On this coin the reverse was not affected: Normally they would show a double image on both sides: A lot of coins show machine damage during the strike and many think this is a doubled die, but it is not. Note how the affected area is reduced in over all size. Unlike a doubled die, that the die was actually hubbed slightly differently. Note the devices are widened and notching on the "U" is present on TRUST. So images will help us figure out what you have. Looking forward to them when you get a chance.

Looks like you can make out the hairline/forehead and the lettering is also rotated. The back looks like the Memorial is on a see-saw. Very cool looking coin!

I'm suspicious. The amount of movement doesn't look the same on both sides and there are some other oddities. Almost looks like a "struck with soft dies" fake. Con't be sure from the pictures.
