New Years day last year I found the elusive and 2nd from last Jefferson nickel I needed for my set: the 1938-S.

Then I found 3 more throughout the year.

I called it in December that this year was going to be the year of the 1950-D nickel like last year was the year of the 1938-S nickel.

Well I found a 1950 nickel in a roll today.

Unfortunately it was from the wrong country

There were a couple of other Canadians in the box including a 2007 that some engraved the Queen firing one up on it.

That's got to be disappointing. But this could still be the year of the 1950D nickel for you! It's still early in the year.

I sure hope it is for me. I don't search enough to make that likely, though.

Nice find! It may not be a 50-D, but it can be a hole filler.

Never give up ... I've found a total of two 1950-D Jefferson from CRH in my 340,400 coins searched.

I'd be happy to find that coin. Nice find Jack! Of course a 50D would delight me more. Good luck on the hunt!

I'd keep the one with the queen lighting one up.
