I just received this lovely 1916 2 Lire. It's a coin I've wanted to add to my collection for a long time.

I love the reverse design and this coin has a cameo appearance to it.

I bought it from a dealer in India. I thought it had been lost in the mail, but it finally arrived after 45 days. It was shipped registered mail, but the tracking information never appeared on either the Indian or USPS tracking sites.

I'm just glad it arrived.

Make sure it's genuine. I've got a couple in my collection of counterfeits. Mine are about 10% under weight. Likely yours are good if they look good with full weight.

Italian coins as a rule have very artistic designs. This is no exception.

Would an acetone soak help with some of the obverse spots?

Mixed results for me- yes and no. I've had cases where removing some grunge still left a stained blotch. Other times coins turned out just as hoped.
And I also know that "Glad" feeling upon arrival. When I first learned I cannot get the items I need in the U.S. I had to branch out and trust I'd get the goods from the other side of the world. And there were times when I wondered. But sure enough, some did take more time than expected, but that sigh of relief was sweet when I saw that foreign post envelope in my mailbox.
