Thought I got this nickel for a good price 161968950203 and patiently waited for it to arrive .... Finally came - was sent via Media Mail no wonder it took so long and with a $5 shipping fee geez, first rip-off sign but I got a AU Buffalo for $8.50 so the $5 to ship I'm still ok ..... Get home, open package only to find this verses the AU buffalo I bid on .... So I contact seller ask if they shipped wrong coin, no reply .... So I wait a few days and request refund ..... Another 5 days or so pass and I get a note from the seller they are opening case against me ..... Well ok, bring it on .... So a little time passes and ebay refunds the monies .... I get to keep the nickel which is a 1918 Bufflao in G6 to G8 or so, at least never cleaned and full refund including the rip off postage $5 ..... And I left a nice little feedback for seller, not that they care, their future does not look very bright .... Edited by LocalCoinGuy 03/01/2016 2:59 pm

Good for you--very discouraged by cons and rip offs--love the hobby but it seems thick with everyday scams now that I do my serious purchases at shows etc.

Glad you got it resolved.
It makes me sick to think how many people get ripped off.

From his reply to ebay, it did not appear English was his first language!

Other than reporting a buyer for non-payment or the buyer making threats there isn't much else a seller can report about a buyer.

Do you really think you should keep his coin? You should send him a couple bucks at least! ha ha!

Seller asked ebay to cancel return request I'm guessing is where the case opened against me came in .... But really I had no clue and was surprised to see the notice in the inbox with heading: seller has asked ebay for help ..... Now the same message says resolved .... Anyways put he darn thing into grandkids book, frustrating in that I'm still looking for a fair value AU 1918 Buffalo .... I think ebay paid the $13.50 refund and the seller got to keep his money as well, sigh ..... And I got a nickels worth, right?

Quote: I do my serious shopping at shows.. I made the foolish mistake last week, to think that anything at a coin show would be genuine. Bought 2 1833 rubles only to find that they stick to a magnet. I wasn't even paying attention to Counterfeit Detection. I never thought that a dealer at a large coin show would be serving that kind of stuff.
