Hello, I think I have here some sort of "Egypt 8 Reales X# Tn23" variant. But I am not sure because there is no picture material on the Egypt 8 Reales; only descriptions which are a bit different to this coin. It was originally part of an old Yemeni necklace. So if anyone has some info on it, thanks!

I found a picture of a similar piece and as I thought, its just a "Egypt 8 Reales X# Tn23" variant.Nevertheless it interests me for what purpose the Brits created this token.

My understanding is that these were sort of advertising tokens for Cairo, Egypt jewelers... early 1900s, I believe.

38mm (almost standard 8R size) is pretty big compared to the ones I've seen... usually more like a 2 Reales size.

It looks cast to me - poorly cast. A copy of a fantasy coin.
